The Courage of Being Curious
In design, curiosity is nothing without bravery and bravery is borned in a nurturing environment. A designer must have the courage to take leaps of faith and trust that their curiosity will lead them to new and innovative solutions. That can only happen when design leaders and the culture around them create the right conditions for it. This has been true for me over my career, both in automotive design as well as in the marine industry and this applies much more broadly for all creatives.
Curiosity-driven questions to address in the session:
● What conditions ignite curiosity for you and your team?
● What leaps of faith have you made to achieve design innovation? And thinking back, what enabled that bravery?
● What is holding you as a designer back from taking more risks?
● What part of your industry demands more risk-taking and curiosity?
