博普乐思 · 香港

Brett Wightman leads Populous’ design teams across South East Asia and Japan, designing large-scale sports, entertainment and aviation facilities that draw people together in the places they love to be. Growing up in Australia and moving to Asia in his early 20s, he is passionate about using architecture and design to solve complex social, economic and transport related problems facing many of the region’s heavily populated and growing cities.

His recent projects include The Venetian and Londoner Arenas in Macau, Las Vegas Sands Arena in Singapore, Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong, Tsukiji District Development and Kansai International Airport Redevelopment in Japan.

Travel and exploration are at the heart of Brett’s design philosophy. By engaging, living in and adapting to local cultures and traditions, he is able to design spaces that are regionally authentic whilst fulfilling the commercial aspirations of international stakeholders.

❝Designers are curious people; always exploring, asking questions and trying to predict what’s coming next. But for me in my work across Asia it has been essential to embrace the history and culture of the region, to reinterpret what the future of these large spaces that we create lasting memories in looks like.  The ways that we gather and use large buildings for sport, entertainment and travel have evolved over time, but their primary purpose is to bring people together as communities and it’s this inquisitive understanding of culture that helps designers shape spaces that connect and welcome.❞ — Brett Wightman on "Curiosity"
